Cbanker says key rate may stay or grow further in 2023
MOSCOW, Sep 29 (PRIME) -- The central bank’s key rate will either stay or grow further in 2023, Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said on Friday during the International Banking Forum.
“Everything depends on how the situation evolves. There are many uncertainties, and we will look into the impact that the already-made decisions will have on inflation,” she said.
“The forecast for this year encompasses the possibilities of the key rate staying at the current level or growing,” she said.
The regulator increased the key rate to 13% from 12% annually on September 15 because of a significant inflation pressure in the economy.
